Volunteering Opportunities

The Rehabilitation Centre for Children (RCC) supports children and youth in Manitoba and surrounding areas (including Nunavut and Northwest Ontario) in achieving their goals and participating in their communities. We are very grateful for the many volunteers who give their time and expertise to our programs. Many of our programs rely heavily on volunteer support. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for all of your hard work and commitment!

RCC Programs that have Volunteers:

  • Administration
  • Electronics
  • Equipment Recycling
  • LIFE Program (Leisure in Fun Environments)
    • RBC Therapeutic Recreation Program
    • Active Living Centre (Recreation Equipment Loan Program)
    • Summer Camps
  • Specialized Communication Resources for Children
  • Stepping Out on Saturdays (SOS) Camp
  • SSCY Family Resource Centre

Eligibility for Volunteering:

  • Must be able to volunteer for a minimum of six months or 75 hours
  • Must comply with Canada Immigration Laws and Regulations
  • Minimum age requirement is 16 years of age for direct client contact
  • Must meet health requirements for the position
  • Under the age of 16 must have guardian consent
  • Willing to provide three references
  • Willing to follow all RCC policies

Screening Process:

  • Initial interview with the Volunteer Coordinator
  • Reference checks (three)
  • Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Criminal Records Check
