A Reading of Holland by Trish Cooper

January 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Free

Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre, with the support of the SSCY-RCC Family Advisory Committee, is delighted to invite parents and caregivers to a special, free staged reading from the new play Holland by Trish Cooper, hosted at the SSCY Centre.

Holland is a wacky, heartfelt comedy about two parents of a child living with a disability who finally decide to take matters into their own hands to get the resources their son needs. The play tackles serious topics like disability rights, caregiving and challenging “the system,” but it does so with a lot of humour, energy and love for everyday parents who will do anything for their kids.

On this evening, actors from MTC will read the first half of the play (ending on a cliffhanger!) so you can get to know the story, enjoy a night out, snack and participate in a draw to see Holland live.

Space is limited. Please RSVP by January 12 through this link: https://forms.office.com/r/KJNbPDncnN

If you require accommodations in order to participate, please let us know and we’ll do our best to accommodate.

Please note, SSCY Centre is a scent-free facility – please refrain from wearing scented products to this event.

This event is especially designed with parents and caregivers in mind: it is honest about the challenges, but it is also very funny and affirming. We hope it will feel both relatable and like a fun night out.  Please note that this event is not appropriate for children.
