This presentation on Critical Features in Teaching Safety Skills to Children by Dr. Rasha Baruni, will discuss research on evaluating behavioural approaches to teaching and assessing safety skills. Focusing on increasing the accessibility of safety skills training across different approaches. This includes video self-modeling as an efficient and accessible approach for teaching safety skills to children with autism, a web-based training program for parents to teach safety skills to their own children, and an interactive computerized training approach for teaching behaviour analysts to conduct safety skills training for clients with disabilities. Concluding with a discussion of future directions for research in safety skills.
