Family Retreat

The RCC/SSCY Family Network is pleased to announce the return of the annual Family Retreat, a full-day event designed to support, engage and connect families of children living with a disability in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Retreat Program Overview:

Morning Session (10:00 AM – 12:00 PM):
– Parents will participate in a parent-led peer support group to share experiences and build connections.
– Children will enjoy recreational programming with a caregiver or support person.
– Siblings aged 7–14 are invited to attend a Sibshops workshop focused on peer support and fun.

Please note: Activity options will be available for children with support needs and for siblings not old enough to attend Sibshops. Families are asked to provide a support person for their child with support needs during this timeframe (e.g., a respite worker, family member or caregiver). Children under the age of 4 must remain with their parent(s).

Lunch:
A catered lunch will be provided by Camp Manitou.

Afternoon Session: (12:00 – 3:00 PM)
Families will participate together in a range of engaging activities, including a low ropes course, ziplining, lawn games, crafts and a bonfire.
