Truth and Reconciliation

The Rehabilitation Centre for Children is committed to Truth and Reconciliation.  We are on a learning journey and acknowledge the history of the residential school system in Canada and the impacts, past and ongoing, of colonization on Indigenous peoples.  We commit to promoting equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging for all children, families and First Nation, Metis and Inuit communities we walk beside in our journey.

Grandmother Helen Robinson-Settee, RCC Board member and chair, of the Truth and Reconciliation Jordan’s Principle Advisory Committee and Elder Mary Wilson support us through this work to ensure that RCC is providing culturally safe and culturally appropriate services with and for Indigenous clients and families.  RCC is committed to Truth and Reconciliation and to being an ally through education, understanding and action.

We are grateful to our Knowledge Keeper, Mary Wilson, for sharing her teachings through formal ceremonies, organized activities and through ongoing conversations.  Her office is located on the main floor of SSCY Centre.
